Focus Area: Staying the Course
Today you will learn or re-familiarize yourself with a special, precious suit; a covering if you will. Its purpose is to protect you from the Enemy’s deceit and get you closer to God. And it’s tailor-made just for you. You see, the Devil is very skillful. He knows just the right person to tear you down and the perfect scenario to break you. You start to question your beliefs, yourself, and maybe even your God – Satan’s main goal. But all that stops here!
Each piece of God’s armor is here to protect you from every angle the Devil tries to come at you. And if you put it on daily, he won’t stand a chance. Sooo, let's SUIT UP!
The Belt of Truth (Ephesians 6:14) - Put on the belt of truth by knowing how God feels about you, not what the Devil wants you to believe.
Thought to ponder: How do you think God feels about you?
The Breastplate of Righteousness (Ephesians 6:14) - Put on the breastplate of righteousness by understanding that you are already right with God through Jesus Christ.
Thought to ponder: What do you think it means to be made right with God?
The Shoes of Peace (Ephesians 6:15) - Put on the shoes of peace by knowing God will never leave or forsake you. He comforts, protects, provides, promotes, and guides. He is your everything.
Thought to ponder: What does having peace look like for you?
The Shield of Faith (Ephesians 6:16) - Put on the shield of faith by believing with every part of your being that God IS all, KNOWS all, and He works ALL things out for the good of those who love and believe in Him.
Thought to ponder: Name one example when you thought there was no way out, but God showed up.
The Helmet of Salvation (Ephesians 6:17) - Put on the helmet of salvation by believing there is nothing you can do to earn your way into Heaven. Believe that Jesus paid the price for you on the cross. Accept His gift.
Thought to ponder: In what areas are you still trying to earn God’s love and approval?
The Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) - Carry the sword by reading and meditating on God's Word. Not only does this build a relationship with Christ, but it also helps defeat Satan's lies by knowing God's truth.
Thought to ponder: What prevents you from reading God’s Word often?
Now that you have learned about all the pieces of your armor, how about giving it a name?
