Hey Family. Happy Inspirational Monday! This week, we will learn or refamiliarize ourselves with a special, precious suit, a covering if you will. Its purpose is to protect us from the Enemy’s deceit. And it’s tailor-made just for each of us. You see, the Devil is very skillful. He knows just the right person to tear us down and the perfect scenario to break us. We start to question our beliefs, ourselves, and maybe even our God. But all that stops here on this week’s journey.
~ Scripture to Memorize ~
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
~ 1 Peter 5:8 NIV
~ Challenge to Accept ~
Each piece of God’s armor is here to protect us from every angle the Devil tries to come at us. And if we put it on daily, he won’t stand a chance. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s SUIT up!
The Belt of Truth (Ephesians 6:14) - Put on the belt of truth by knowing how God feels about you, not what the Devil wants you to believe.
Thought to ponder: How do you think God feels about you?
The Breastplate of Righteousness (Ephesians 6:14) - Put on the breastplate of righteousness by understanding that you are already right with God through Jesus Christ.
Thought to ponder: What does it mean to be made right with God?
The Shoes of Peace (Ephesians 6:15) - Put on the shoes of peace by knowing God will never leave or forsake you. He comforts, protects, provides, promotes, and guides. He is our everything.
Thought to ponder: What does having peace look like for you?
The Shield of Faith (Ephesians 6:16) - Put on the shield of faith by believing with every part of your being that God IS all, KNOWS all, and He works ALL things out for the good of those who love and believe in Him.
Thought to ponder: Name one example when you thought there was no way out, but God showed up.
The Helmet of Salvation (Ephesians 6:17) - Put on the helmet of salvation by believing there is nothing you can do to earn your way into heaven. Believe Jesus paid that price for you on the cross. Accept His gift.
Thought to ponder: In what areas are you still trying to earn God’s love and approval?
The Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) - Carry the sword by reading and meditating on God's Word. Not only does this build a relationship with Christ, but it also helps defeat Satan's lies by knowing God's truth.
Thought to ponder: What prevents you from reading God’s Word often?
~ Prayer to Pray ~
Thank You so much for setting me up for success. You have given me the tools I need to defeat the Devil. Help me to learn what each piece represents in my life. I want to become one with it and allow it to truly be my weapon against Satan. And Lord, after the learning is complete, help me to remember to wear it daily.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Now that you have learned about all the pieces of your armor, how about giving it a name?
